Installment One - The Constitution

I honestly believe that most of you in American today have forgotten or were never made to read or study the Constitution of the United States. Article II. Section 2. Does not state that the President of the United States has the Power to make Law. Kings and Dictators have that singularity power. Article I., Section 8. defines who has the "Power" to lay and collect taxes, Duties.... and the General Welfare of the United States.

When and how you people came to the conclusion that ALL of the problems with America for the last 50 years rests at the feet of President's past & present is beyond me.

Congress, BOTH Houses and BOTH Parties are at fault here. We do not have a Government of the People, by the People & "for" the People. It has perished from the Earth. Tell me the last time when a sitting Representative or Senator held a town hall meeting to discuss what he or she should do on "our" behalf concerning any topic?

Well?

  1. I agree with you Lee. Our government is run by idealogies. The two party system has kept our government in a lock down. If you're a pro-life democrat, your an anomlie. There are leftist groups that hate any type of legislation that imposes a restriction of any kind or one that lends itself to being pro-life in any way. One the other hand, if you're a pro-life republican, you protect unborn babies, but cannot condone government assistance, of any kind, for underprivledged babies who are already born. The culprit is the congress and the party they are affiliated with. Their ties to corporations through campaign donations and lobbyists have corrupted our system for over a century. It's greed at its worst. But then one could ask is it the slippery slope of capitalism that has gotten us in to this pickle? I, personally, see that capitalism is good. Greed is bad. Working hard to obtain the fruits of our labor is a good thing. Perverting the system in order to drive up profits, house of cards profits, is bad. I feel our dilema is oversight. Without getting into the blame game of which administration was the best or worst, our checks and balances have erroded over the years. We need OVERSIGHT!

  3. I concur. As they say it all begins here at home, but do we even know all of our neighbors? To that we ask what happened to going to the PTA Meetings, Why is there only a 7% turn out to vote for our City's elected officials?

    Possible answer?
turn off the T.V., that pretty box of lights & sounds. Remove yourself from the political 24/7 Headlice News from CNN & the Shawn Hanatizer's of the Radio. Go talk to your neighbors. Volunteer at the food bank, find a House of Worship and serve your fellow man.

I am but a simple man, but I am convinced we are a country headed for ruin.
